Shangri-La Circle tiers
Four levels, and unusually, status also raises your earning rate rather than only your perks. Qualification runs on nights or tier points, whichever you hit first.

Every tier, including free Gold, gets room upgrades when available, priority check-in and check-out, a guaranteed bed type, and family membership. Higher tiers add earlier check-in, with Jade at 11 a.m. and Diamond at 8 a.m., plus daily breakfast and guaranteed room availability.

Do Shangri-La Circle points expire?
Yes, and the rule is unusual enough to catch people out. Points expire up to three calendar years after the end of the year in which you earned them. In practice, that means points earned in January last about 36 months, while points earned in December last about 25 months.
- Each point has its own expiry date: Points expire in the order they were earned.
- New activity does not rescue old points: Earning more points never extends the deadline on points you already hold.
- Accounts close too: After 36 months of inactivity, the account is closed unless you reactivate it with a qualifying stay within 12 months of going inactive.
This is the opposite of how most hotel programs work, where any activity resets the whole balance. Therefore, plan to spend points from a given year before that year’s deadline rather than assuming a future stay will protect them.
