Hilton Honors Pay with Points: Apply Points to Your Hotel Bill at Digital Check Out

Hilton launched Pay with Points on October 21, 2026, a new Hilton Honors benefit that lets elite members apply their points to eligible hotel charges during Digital Check Out in the Hilton Honors app. There's no need to stop at the front desk. Hilton calls itself the first major hotel brand to offer this through a fully digital check-out, according to its press release.
The catch for now: it's live at only 150 participating U.S. hotels, and only members with Silver status or higher can use it.
When you check out digitally in the Hilton Honors app, you can:
You can do it at the hotel or on the go after you leave. Hilton says comparable offerings at other chains require front desk assistance.
Pay with Points is limited to Hilton Honors members with elite status:
Base members can't use it. Our guide to Hilton Honors elite status covers each tier.
The easiest shortcut is a Hilton credit card. The no-annual-fee Hilton Honors American Express Card comes with Silver status, the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card comes with Gold, and the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card comes with Diamond. Our guide to Hilton Honors credit cards compares them.
Hilton is rolling the benefit out in stages:
Availability and eligible redemption options may vary by property, so check the app at check-out to see whether your hotel participates.
Hilton hasn't disclosed the rate you get per point with Pay with Points, or exactly which charges qualify. Before you confirm, divide the dollar amount taken off your bill by the number of points used.
We use a conservative valuation of 0.5 cents per Hilton Honors point, so that's the benchmark to beat. If Pay with Points comes in well below it, you'll usually get more from an award night, especially once the Fifth Night Free benefit kicks in on a standard room award stay of five nights or more.
Pay with Points removes real friction: using points for anything other than a free night used to mean a front desk conversation. For Silver and Gold members, it's a handy way to put a small balance to work at the end of a stay.
Whether it's worth using comes down to the rate per point, which Hilton hasn't published. Here's how today's other options compare:
If Hilton gives close to 0.5 cents per point, Pay with Points is a solid way to cover part of a bill with points that are just sitting in your account, depending on which charges the hotel accepts. If it lands closer to the Amazon rate, keep it for orphan balances that will never add up to a free night. It's also an elite-only perk, while Hilton's other non-hotel redemptions are open to every member. We'll update this post as the rollout expands and real-world rates come in.
