Amex Platinum $600 Lodging Credit: Two-Night Minimum for Fine Hotels + Resorts From January 1, 2027

Starting January 1, 2027, the Amex Platinum $600 Lodging Credit will only reimburse Fine Hotels + Resorts bookings with a minimum two-night stay. The change applies to both the Platinum Card from American Express and the Business Platinum Card, and it is written into the Lodging Credit terms on the American Express site.
The benefit also has a new name and a wider scope. The former $600 Hotel Credit is now the $600 Lodging Credit, and prepaid Airbnb Luxe stays booked through Amex Travel now qualify, also with a two-night minimum. Single-night Fine Hotels + Resorts stays remain eligible through December 31, 2026, so your 2026 credit is the last one you can use on a one-night stay.
The amount does not change. Basic Card Members get up to $300 in statement credits semi-annually, for up to $600 per calendar year:
Bookings must be prepaid ("Pay Now") and made through AmexTravel.com or the Amex Travel App. Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Hotel Collection can also be booked by calling the number on the back of the card. No enrollment is required. Delta SkyMiles Platinum Card Members are not eligible.
Fine Hotels + Resorts was the only way to use the credit on a single night. The Hotel Collection already required two consecutive nights, and Airbnb Luxe joins with the same rule. From January 1, 2027, all three booking types need at least two nights to trigger the statement credit.
The two-night rule applies to the statement credit only. Fine Hotels + Resorts benefits on a one-night stay (daily breakfast for two, a $100 property credit, guaranteed 4pm check-out, 12pm check-in and a room upgrade when available) are not tied to it.
| Booking type (prepaid, via Amex Travel) | Through December 31, 2026 | From January 1, 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| Fine Hotels + Resorts | 1 night | 2 nights |
| The Hotel Collection | 2 consecutive nights | 2 consecutive nights |
| Airbnb Luxe | 2 consecutive nights | 2 consecutive nights |
Airbnb homes can now be booked from the Homes tab of AmexTravel.com or the Amex Travel App. You first link an Airbnb account in the same name as your American Express online account. Three benefits come with it:
The 5X points are Membership Rewards points, which you can transfer to airline and hotel partners. You cannot pay for an Airbnb booking with Pay with Points.
The Experiences credit has strings attached. If every qualifying Airbnb Luxe booking is cancelled, the benefit locks again and credits already received may be reversed. Experiences sold through a third-party platform, such as live event tickets, are excluded.
The deadline that matters is the processing date of the charge, not the travel date. A prepaid booking processed before December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM Central Time counts toward the July to December 2026 period, even if the stay happens later.
Basic Card Members and Additional Platinum Card Members can book all three types of stays. Companion Platinum Card Members, and Employee Business Expense Card Members on Business Platinum accounts, can only use The Hotel Collection and Airbnb Luxe for the credit. The $300 per period cap applies across all cards on the account.

If you hold a Platinum or Business Platinum card and you usually burn the $300 on one night at a Fine Hotels + Resorts property, book that stay before December 31, 2026. From 2027, plan on two nights per $300, or look at Airbnb Luxe if a private home suits your trip. Compare your options in our credit card guide, and get changes like this one in our newsletter.
