Bilt to Hyatt Transfers Drop to 4:3 on January 1, 2027

Bilt to Hyatt transfers get 25% weaker on January 1, 2027. Today, 1,000 Bilt Rewards points become 1,000 World of Hyatt points. Starting January 1, 2027, the ratio moves to 4:3, so the same 1,000 Bilt points will turn into 750 Hyatt points.
You still have until December 31, 2026 to transfer at 1:1. That window matters if you already have a Hyatt stay in mind. It matters much less if you were planning to park Bilt points in Hyatt "just in case."
The change is narrow and simple:
The change targets World of Hyatt only. Bilt has not announced a new ratio for its other hotel partners: Hilton Honors, Marriott Bonvoy and IHG One Rewards currently transfer at 1:1.
Because transfers go in blocks of 1,000 points, the 4:3 ratio adds a little rounding on top of the 25% cut. The table below shows how many Bilt points it takes to land common Hyatt balances before and after the change.
| Hyatt points you need | Bilt points at 1:1 (through Dec. 31, 2026) | Bilt points at 4:3 (from Jan. 1, 2027) | Extra Bilt points |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5,000 | 5,000 | 7,000 | +2,000 |
| 15,000 | 15,000 | 20,000 | +5,000 |
| 25,000 | 25,000 | 34,000 | +9,000 |
| 40,000 | 40,000 | 54,000 | +14,000 |
| 100,000 | 100,000 | 134,000 | +34,000 |
Every Bilt member. The new ratio applies to points earned on rent and mortgage payments, through Bilt Neighborhood partners and on all three Bilt cards: Blue, Obsidian and Palladium. There is no premium-card exception.
Bilt and Chase Ultimate Rewards are the only two transferable currencies that move points to World of Hyatt, so this change weakens one of only two routes into Hyatt.
Only for a stay you can name. A Bilt to Hyatt transfer cannot be reversed: once the points land in your Hyatt account, they follow Hyatt's rules, including any future award price changes.
The math still favors acting early when the trip is real. Milesopedia values World of Hyatt points at 1.65 cents each. At 1:1, a Bilt point sent to Hyatt is worth about 1.65 cents. At 4:3, that drops to roughly 1.24 cents, a loss of about 0.41 cent on every point you move.
A practical approach:
If you have no stay planned, keeping points in Bilt is the flexible choice. They remain usable with airline partners, other hotel partners and the current transfer bonuses that show up during the year.
Transfers start in the Bilt app or on the Bilt website:
Most transfers post right away. Allow up to 48 hours before assuming something went wrong, and do not book a stay that depends on points that have not arrived yet.
Bilt keeps adding partners even as it trims this one. In September, it added Amtrak Guest Rewards as a 2:1 transfer partner, a useful option for Northeast Corridor travelers. If you have a Hyatt stay planned for 2027 or beyond and can book it now, transfer the Bilt points you need before December 31, 2026 and lock in the 1:1 ratio. If you have no specific stay in mind, leave your points in Bilt: a speculative transfer trades flexibility for a ratio you may never use.
