Bilt 2027 Changes: Daily Rewards, 12-Month Bilt Cash and Up to 1.25X on Rent by Default

The Bilt 2027 changes, announced on October 27, 2026, touch almost every part of the program. The one that matters most for cardholders: starting on your first card anniversary on or after January 1, 2027, Bilt cards default to earning up to 1.25X points on rent or mortgage, and Flexible Bilt Cash mode (4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday spend) goes away unless you opt out in the Bilt app before that date. Members without a card feel it too. On January 15, 2027, Daily Rewards replace the guaranteed Bilt Points they earned on rent and mortgage payments. Bilt Cash moves to a rolling 12-month expiration, and Bilt Cash hotel redemptions drop from monthly to twice a year on January 1, 2027.
What changes for Bilt cardholders
The new default is the housing-only structure. Your multiplier on rent or mortgage paid through Bilt depends on your everyday card spend in the billing cycle, measured against your housing payment. The more you put on the card, the higher the multiplier, up to 1.25X.

If your everyday spend stays under 25% of your housing payment, you earn no multiplier, but the primary cardholder still gets a floor of 250 Bilt Points per billing cycle when a housing payment goes through Bilt.
Accounts opened before January 1, 2027 can still pick between the two rewards options until their first anniversary in 2027. Accounts opened on or after January 1, 2027 get the new structure.
Keeping 4% Bilt Cash: the Legacy Election
If you earn in Flexible Bilt Cash mode today, you can keep it by making what Bilt calls a Legacy Election in your card settings before your first card anniversary on or after January 1, 2027. You then keep 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday spend and your current annual credits.
The trade-off: you can no longer switch month to month with the housing-only option. Under Flexible Bilt Cash, rent and mortgage points go up to 1X, unlocked by redeeming $3 of Bilt Cash per 100 points. You can still move to the new structure later through the app, but that switch is permanent.
Palladium and Obsidian credits become Bilt Cash
For cardholders on the new benefits, the annual credits change at the card anniversary:
- Bilt Palladium Card: the $200 Bilt Cash credit and the $400 hotel credit merge into one $600 Bilt Cash credit each year.
- Bilt Obsidian Card: the $100 Bilt Travel hotel credit becomes $100 of Bilt Cash each year.
- Timing: annual Bilt Cash credits land on your card anniversary instead of January 1.
- Point Accelerator: Palladium and Obsidian cardholders can still redeem Bilt Cash for it.
Points multipliers on everyday purchases do not change on any card. A Legacy Election keeps the old credits in place.
Bilt Cash now lasts 12 months
Bilt Cash now expires at the end of the month, 12 months after you earn it. The year-end deadline and rollover are gone. Bilt Cash earned in February 2026 expires on February 28, 2027, so check your oldest balance first.
You still earn $50 of Bilt Cash for every 25,000 Bilt Points.
Hotel bookings with Bilt Cash: twice a year from January 1, 2027
Bilt Cash hotel redemptions switch from monthly to twice a year on January 1, 2027. Each time, you can apply up to:
- Blue and Silver members: $50, or $100 per year
- Gold and Platinum members: $100, or $200 per year
- Eligible Palladium cardholders: $200, or $400 per year
These amounts apply to eligible Bilt Hotel bookings.
Daily Rewards start January 15, 2027
Daily Rewards launch on January 15, 2027 and run through December 31, 2027. You earn one Daily Reward per day for your first qualifying action with a participating neighborhood partner, such as a meal, a fitness class or a ride, with a $5 minimum purchase. An on-time rent or mortgage payment earns a bonus Daily Reward, once per 25-day period.
Each Daily Reward reveals two options and you claim one: an instant prize (Bilt Points, Bilt Cash or neighborhood credits) or a collectible piece. Four pieces of a set give a chance at a grand prize, including $1,000,000 toward a home, 10,000,000 Bilt Points, a year of rent or mortgage, a year of Lyft rides or a getaway. You have 30 days to reveal a reward, and collectibles reset at the end of 2027.
For members without a Bilt card, a Daily Reward replaces the guaranteed points on rent and mortgage payments made on or after January 15, 2027. Cardholders keep earning points on housing payments, with Daily Rewards on top. Bilt says prize rules will be published before January 15, 2027.
More perks for Bilt elite status
Gold and Platinum members will be able to redeem Bilt Points at checkout for Home Away from Home hotel bookings in 2027. Elite members also unlock rental car status matches in 2027:

Bottom Line
Find your card anniversary date in the Bilt app before you do anything else. If your everyday card spend regularly matches your rent, the new default of up to 1.25X on housing should suit you. If you value 4% back in Bilt Cash, make the Legacy Election before that anniversary, because the default switches without it.
Then spend your oldest Bilt Cash before its 12-month clock runs out, and plan Bilt Cash hotel bookings around two redemptions a year. How many points will I earn on rent under the new default?
Between 0.5X and 1.25X, based on your everyday card spend compared with your housing payment in each billing cycle. Spending at least 100% of your rent on the card earns 1.25X, so $2,000 of rent earns 2,500 points. Below 25%, you get a floor of 250 points per billing cycle.
When does Bilt Cash expire now?
At the end of the month, 12 months after you earn it. For example, Bilt Cash earned in February 2026 expires on February 28, 2027. There is no longer a year-end deadline or rollover.
How much Bilt Cash can I use on hotels in 2027?
Starting January 1, 2027, you can redeem Bilt Cash on eligible Bilt Hotel bookings twice a year. Each time, the cap is $50 for Blue and Silver members, $100 for Gold and Platinum members and $200 for eligible Palladium cardholders.
