Hyatt New Hotel Offer: Double Points, Up to 25,000 Bonus Points per Stay

World of Hyatt ended its 500-points-per-night bonus at new hotels on October 1, 2026. The Hyatt new hotel offer now works as a special rate: book the "New Hotel Member Bonus Offer" rate at a participating property and you earn double points, capped at 25,000 bonus points per stay.
That sounds like an upgrade, and on expensive paid nights it is. The catch is that the bonus no longer comes with the stay itself. It comes with one specific rate, and that rate is not always the cheapest one on the page.
Under the old offer, members collected 500 bonus points for every night at a hotel on Hyatt's new hotels list. There was nothing to register for, and award nights earned it too.
The new version is tied to spending instead of nights. Hyatt doubles the Base Points you earn on eligible room rates and eligible incidental charges, as long as you book the "New Hotel Member Bonus Offer" rate during that hotel's offer period. Booking a different rate at the same hotel earns no bonus at all.
Recent hotels showing the offer include Thompson Rome, Park Hyatt Riviera Maya, Hyatt Regency Halong Bay, The Clayfield in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, and Hyatt House Monroe / Cranbury / South Brunswick in New Jersey. The list changes as properties join the program.
Most Hyatt hotels pay 5 Base Points per eligible US dollar. Doubling that gives you an extra 5 points per dollar, so the new bonus beats the old 500 points as soon as you spend more than $100 per night in eligible charges. Hyatt Studios pays 2.5 Base Points per dollar, which pushes the break-even point to $200 per night.
The 25,000-point cap only bites on big stays. At 5 bonus points per dollar, you would need $5,000 of eligible spending in a single stay to reach it.
| Eligible spend per night | Old bonus (until Sept. 30, 2026) | New bonus (from Oct. 1, 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| $100 | 500 points | 500 points |
| $200 | 500 points | 1,000 points |
| $300 | 500 points | 1,500 points |
| $500 | 500 points | 2,500 points |
| $1,000 | 500 points | 5,000 points |
Milesopedia values World of Hyatt points at 1.65 cents each. At that value, the extra 5 points per dollar works out to roughly an 8% rebate on eligible spending, before any credit card earnings.
Paid stays above $100 a night come out ahead, sometimes by a wide margin. A four-night stay at $500 per night now earns 10,000 bonus points, compared with 2,000 under the old offer.
Award stays lose the most. A free night booked with points was never paid on this rate, so it no longer earns any new hotel bonus. Travelers who usually book a corporate, AAA, package or other discounted rate also lose out, because the offer cannot be combined with other promotional rates, packages, groups or special rate programs.
The bonus is only a gain when the price gap is small. At some hotels the bonus rate is cheaper than the standard flexible rate. At others it costs noticeably more than the best rate available that night, and the extra points do not cover the difference.
Before you book, put the "New Hotel Member Bonus Offer" price next to the hotel's flexible rate, any prepaid rate and any member rate you would normally use. Check the cancellation terms on both, since they can differ by a day or more.
If you already hold a reservation at a new Hyatt on another rate, it does not qualify. Look for the bonus rate on your dates, compare the price, and make a new booking on that rate only if the numbers work.
The bonus points post two to four weeks after checkout. Hyatt only doubles Base Points, so tier bonuses and other promotions are not multiplied. Consecutive nights at the same hotel on this rate count as one stay, even if you check out and back in, which matters for the 25,000-point cap.

Book the "New Hotel Member Bonus Offer" rate only when its price sits close to the best rate the hotel shows you. On a paid night above $100, it beats the old 500-point bonus. On an award night or a cheap room, the old offer was better, and there is nothing left to claim.
Paying with the World of Hyatt Credit Card adds the card's own points on top of the hotel bonus. To compare it with other travel cards, see our guide to the best credit cards, and subscribe to our newsletter to get the next Hyatt promotion as soon as it launches.
