The offer only works if Emirates Skywards is your earning preference in your IHG One Rewards account before check-in. That choice replaces your IHG points for the stay, so compare what you give up before you switch.
How the Emirates 2X promotion works
The Emirates 2X Promotion is open to members of both IHG One Rewards and Emirates Skywards. Registration uses your Skywards membership number and runs through 11:59 pm GST on November 30, 2026. That is 2:59 pm Eastern on November 30.
Stays count from October 29, 2026, through 11:59 pm GST on January 31, 2027. Nights from a stay you completed before registering do not count, so register first and book second.

How many Skywards miles you earn
IHG awards Skywards base miles at 2 miles per U.S. dollar at most participating brands. Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites earn 1 mile per dollar. During the promotion, base miles plus bonus miles equal twice your base miles on the room rate and eligible charges:
- Most IHG brands: 2 base miles per dollar, 4 miles per dollar in total
- Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites: 1 base mile per dollar, 2 miles per dollar in total
- IHG's own example: a one-night stay at a $100 room rate earns 200 base miles plus 200 bonus miles, or 400 miles
Allow up to six weeks for the miles to post to your Skywards account.
What counts as a qualifying stay
A qualifying stay is at least one night booked through ihg.com at an eligible direct booking rate, at a participating hotel. Participating brands include InterContinental, Regent, Kimpton, Hotel Indigo, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, EVEN, voco, Vignette Collection, Atwell Suites, avid, Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites. IHG also publishes a list of hotels that opted out.
Rules that can cost you the bonus
Consecutive nights at the same hotel count as one stay, even with several checkouts. If two eligible members share a room, the miles go only to the member who made the booking.
Booking more than one room for the same nights earns the bonus on one booking only. Stays booked with Reward Nights or Points & Cash do not qualify, and neither do reservations through online travel agencies such as booking.com or expedia.com.
Skywards miles or IHG points?
Choosing Emirates Skywards as your earning preference means you receive miles instead of IHG One Rewards points for that stay. You cannot earn both.
