IHG Promotions: Earn Up to 3X Through December 31

IHG promotions can add points to stays you already plan to book. The main worldwide offer currently provides up to 3X points from your second qualifying stay through December 31, 2026. Registration and the booking channel determine whether you earn the bonus.
Other opportunities include 10,000 points for every two qualifying Ruby hotel nights, a new-member bonus, and invitation-only offers. They have different deadlines and eligibility rules. This roundup was checked on October 28, 2026 and separates public terms from reported targeted promotions.
Start with our IHG One Rewards program guide if you need an overview. All spending amounts in this article are in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise.
The table summarizes the main offers worth checking before your next booking. A public registration page does not establish that an invitation-only offer applies to your account.
| Offer | Reward | Timing | Eligibility and verification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Worldwide stay promotion | 2X total through eligible direct channels; 3X total through eligible app channels | October 1–December 31, 2026 | Register first. No promotional bonus on the first qualifying stay; bonus starts with the second. |
| Ruby Hotels | 10,000 bonus points per two qualifying room nights | July 24–November 4, 2026 | Register before completing eligible stays at participating Ruby hotels. |
| New-member offer | 3,000 bonus points after the first qualifying stay | Complete the stay within 21 days of enrollment | Join through the offer page; residency and qualifying-rate restrictions apply. |
| Targeted next-stay offer | 20,000 bonus points after two qualifying room nights | Within 60 days of registration | Invitation required; register by the deadline in your personal invitation. |
| Targeted Garner and voco offer | 3X reported by AwardWallet | Reported through December 6, 2026 | Individual invitation and its terms required; public registration alone does not establish eligibility. |
| Miles & More | Triple miles instead of IHG points | Official page conflicts: November 30 versus December 31 | Confirm dates with IHG before relying on the offer. Choose miles before check-in. |
IHG's official worldwide promotion covers qualifying stays between October 1 and December 31, 2026. You must register, and stays completed before registration do not count.
Your first qualifying stay earns no promotional bonus. Starting with the second, eligible stays booked through an IHG-owned direct channel earn double points. Eligible bookings through the IHG One Rewards app on Android or iOS earn triple points instead.
The terms also identify HarmonyOS and WeChat in mainland China, and LINE in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand. For a U.S. traveler, the IHG app is the straightforward channel to check for the triple-points opportunity.
The channel is assessed for each stay. Booking one qualifying stay through the app does not make every later website booking earn 3X. Your first qualifying stay must also use an eligible direct channel.
The promotion requires at least one night at a participating hotel on a qualifying rate, with total spending exceeding $30 per night. Reward Nights, Points & Cash stays, and third-party reservations do not qualify.
IHG specifically excludes online travel agencies such as Booking.com and Expedia. An attractive third-party price may still suit your trip, but do not include this promotional bonus in that comparison.
A member booking several rooms on the same night receives promotion credit for only one qualifying room. Multiple registered members sharing one room do not each receive the bonus. Check IHG's definition of a stay before assuming separate reservations create separate qualifying stays.
There is no cap on promotional earning under the worldwide offer. However, hotel participation and eligible-rate rules still apply. Some properties or brands are not fully integrated into IHG One Rewards.
3X is the combined total of base points and this promotion's bonus. It is not three extra sets of points on top of the base earnings.
For example, assume a qualifying stay normally earns 1,000 base points. Under the double-points tier, it earns 1,000 base points plus 1,000 promotional points. Under the triple-points tier, it earns 1,000 base points plus 2,000 promotional points.
IHG calculates the promotional bonus from base points alone. It does not multiply elite-status bonuses, credit-card rewards, or other promotional bonuses. The extra points from this campaign do not qualify toward elite status.
Our IHG elite status guide explains the separate status rules. Do not treat a 3X stay promotion as triple elite-qualifying progress.
IHG's official Ruby promotion awards 10,000 bonus points for every two qualifying room nights at participating Ruby Hotels. The stay window runs from July 24 through November 4, 2026.
Register before completing the qualifying stays. Nights must fall inside the promotion period and belong to an eligible stay. The terms require a qualifying rate with at least $30 in spending per night.
This is a room-night offer, unlike the worldwide campaign's first-stay and second-stay structure. Two qualifying nights are the relevant threshold; do not confuse that with a requirement to book two different trips.
Reward Nights, Points & Cash, and third-party bookings are excluded. Allow up to six weeks for the bonus to post. The promotional points do not count toward elite status.
This European hotel offer may interest U.S. members traveling abroad before the deadline. Confirm the specific property's participation rather than assuming every hotel carrying the brand is eligible.
The official new-member offer provides 3,000 bonus points after an eligible first stay. Enrollment must take place through that offer's landing page.
The qualifying stay must be completed within 21 days of joining, booked directly with IHG, and associated with the new member's IHG number. A qualifying rate requires at least $30 per night.
This is a one-time offer, subject to residency restrictions and hotel participation. Check the eligible-market terms when joining; an ordinary enrollment through another page is not the same as enrollment in this campaign.
Reward Nights and Points & Cash do not qualify. The official terms allow up to six weeks for posting. We have not treated AwardWallet's reported December 31 end date as an independently confirmed universal enrollment deadline.
Existing members should not open another account to pursue this new-member bonus. Instead, review the promotions attached to their current membership.
IHG publishes terms for a 20,000-point offer, but it is invitation-only. Receiving a link or successfully opening the page does not make you eligible.
An invited member must register by the deadline in the invitation. Both qualifying nights must be completed within 60 days after registration, through an eligible direct booking.
The offer can be earned once, with a maximum of 20,000 promotional points. Check the invitation's precise deadline and qualifying-rate conditions before relying on it. The official terms allow up to six weeks for posting.
AwardWallet reports targeted 3X offers for participating Garner and voco hotels through December 6, 2026. We could read IHG's registration form, but not individual offer terms confirming those promotions for a member account.
IHG's official registration page warns that many offers require a specific targeted communication. Successful registration does not guarantee an award if the member is not eligible.
Use the invitation or your account's offer details to check the brand, dates, spending requirements, and compatibility with other promotions. These reported offers should not be treated as public entitlements.
IHG's Miles & More promotion page currently contains conflicting information. Its marketing copy advertises triple miles through December 31, 2026, while its detailed terms specify October 1 through November 30, 2026 for qualifying stays and registration.
The page also contains inconsistent registration wording. Get confirmation from IHG before relying on eligibility, especially for a December stay. We use November 30 as the conservative date in the summary, rather than promising December earning.
The detailed terms require Miles & More as the earning preference before check-in. Crucially, a member receiving these miles is not entitled to IHG One Rewards points for that same stay.
This is an alternative earning choice, not a guaranteed extra layer on top of the worldwide IHG points promotion. Compare the reward you would give up before changing your preference.
Check each offer separately. An eligible targeted offer may permit participation in another campaign, but that does not make two 3X offers equal 9X.
The worldwide offer calculates its bonus from base points only. Another promotion can use a different basis, require a separate registration, or exclude the stay entirely.
Credit-card rewards are also separate from hotel promotional points. Paying with an IHG card does not fix an ineligible booking channel or turn an award night into a qualifying paid stay. Our IHG credit cards guide explains the cards without conflating their rewards with these hotel campaigns.
Use this order to avoid losing a bonus:
Do not add an unnecessary night just to reach a bonus. Compare the extra cash cost with a conservative assessment of points you would actually use.
Keep purchase promotions separate too. Our IHG points buying article covers buying an existing balance; it does not replace the conditions for earning points on a hotel stay.
For broader earning options, compare our best credit cards. Choose according to expected use and actual costs, rather than adding every advertised multiplier together.
