OnePay Gas Deal: $1 Back Per Gallon Every Wednesday
Loading article…
The OnePay gas deal pays you $1 cash back per gallon every Wednesday, on up to 50 gallons. That is one of the largest per gallon discounts running in the United States right now, and it costs nothing to try. The promotion ends September 15, 2026.
You do not need a new credit card for it. OnePay is a payments app, and the offer works through a card you already link inside it. Fill a 15 gallon tank on a Wednesday and you are looking at $15 back on a single stop.
How the OnePay gas deal works
OnePay runs gas offers in its app year round. The Wednesday bonus sits on top of those offers rather than replacing them. Here are the published terms.
| Detail | What OnePay says |
|---|---|
| Bonus amount | $1 cash back per gallon |
| When | Every Wednesday, 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Pacific time |
| Ends | September 15, 2026 |
| Gallon cap | 50 gallons per Wednesday |
| Daily limit | Two gas offers per day |
| Stacking | Added on top of the app’s regular gas offer and the monthly cash back category |
| Excluded states | New Jersey and Wisconsin |
The Pacific time window matters more than it looks. If you live on the East Coast, your Wednesday effectively runs until 2:59 a.m. Thursday local time. A late fill up on Wednesday night still counts.
What it is actually worth
National average gas prices have been sitting near $3 a gallon. A dollar off per gallon is therefore close to a third off your fuel bill, which no cash back credit card comes near. The best gas cards pay 3% to 5%, so on a $45 tank you would earn between $1.35 and $2.25. The OnePay bonus on that same tank pays about $15.
The cap keeps it grounded. Fifty gallons is roughly three full tanks for most cars, and you would need to hit that in one Wednesday to max it out. For a typical driver filling up once a week, the realistic value is $12 to $18 per Wednesday visit.
How to claim it at the pump
- Open the app first: find the gas offer in OnePay before you start pumping, not after.
- Pick the station: the app shows participating stations near you with the rate attached to each one.
- Claim the offer: select it and follow the prompt at the pump or inside the store.
- Pay with the linked card: a card you have already linked in OnePay, not a random card in your wallet.
- Check the Wednesday: the bonus only applies on Wednesdays, Pacific time, through September 15.
Where a credit card still fits
This promotion runs out in September, and it only helps on one day a week. A good gas card covers the other six days and keeps paying afterward. The Blue Cash Preferred Card from American Express pays 3% at US gas stations with no rotating categories to track. The Discover it Chrome Gas Card is a no annual fee option for smaller fuel budgets.
The two approaches work together. Use OnePay on Wednesdays, and put the rest of your fuel spending on the card that earns the most. Nothing stops you from linking a rewards card inside OnePay either, which means you can earn card rewards and the app bonus on the same gallon.
Bottom Line
A dollar per gallon beats every gas credit card on the market, and there is no annual fee or credit check standing between you and it. The limits are real: one day a week, 50 gallons, two offers per day, and nothing for drivers in New Jersey or Wisconsin.
If you can shift your fill up to Wednesday, this is worth the few minutes it takes to set up. Only three Wednesdays remain before the September 15 end date, so there is not much runway left. Check the app the day before to confirm a participating station sits on your normal route.

OnePay gas deal – Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a OnePay credit card for this?
No. You pay with a card linked inside the OnePay app. There is no separate card to apply for and no credit check tied to the gas offer itself.
How many gallons can I get the bonus on?
Up to 50 gallons each Wednesday. Beyond that the extra dollar per gallon stops, though you still earn whatever the underlying gas offer pays.
When does the promotion end?
September 15, 2026. OnePay has extended similar gas bonuses in the past, but nothing has been announced beyond that date.
Which time zone counts for Wednesday?
Pacific time, from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Drivers in eastern states get a few extra hours after midnight local time on Thursday morning.
Can I use it more than once in a day?
You can claim two gas offers per day. The 50 gallon cap still applies across both, so a second stop mainly helps if your tank is smaller than the cap.
Does it stack with my card rewards?
Yes. The bonus is added on top of the gas offer shown in the app and any monthly cash back category you have chosen. Your linked card also earns its own rewards on the purchase.
Why can I not see gas offers in my state?
OnePay gas offers are not available in New Jersey or Wisconsin. Elsewhere, availability depends on which stations near you participate, so the list changes by location.
Is a dollar per gallon better than a gas credit card?
On Wednesdays, yes, by a wide margin. A 3% card pays about $1.35 on a $45 tank, while this bonus pays roughly $15. The card wins the rest of the week and after the promotion ends.
