Bilt Cash Now Covers Thumbtack: Up to $50 Twice a Year

Bilt Cash can now pay for Thumbtack home services. Bilt members get two Thumbtack redemptions per calendar year, each worth up to $50 of Bilt Cash: one between January 1 and June 30, and one between July 1 and December 31. The rule sits in section 3.1.9 of the Bilt Cash terms, and the booking has to start in the Bilt app or on the Bilt website, not in the Thumbtack app.
The current window runs through December 31, 2026. Skip it and it's gone: an unused redemption doesn't roll into the next half of the year and has no cash value.
Each half-year redemption covers exactly one Thumbtack booking, up to $50. If the job costs less than $50, the leftover is lost for Thumbtack purposes: it can't be moved to a second booking.
The credit belongs to the Bilt Rewards ecosystem, but it draws on Bilt Cash, not on Bilt Points. You don't need a Bilt card to use it. Any individual Bilt Rewards member in good standing who is at least 18 and a legal resident of the 50 states, the District of Columbia or a US territory can redeem Bilt Cash. Cardholders, for instance with the Bilt Blue Card, simply have more ways to earn it.
Bilt handles Thumbtack bookings in two ways, and the path you take decides when your Bilt Cash leaves your balance.
On-Demand jobs come with a set price. Book an eligible one in the Bilt app or on the Bilt website, and the Bilt Cash option appears automatically at checkout. You can combine Bilt Cash with Bilt Points and cash on the same booking.
For a job that needs a quote, you request it from a Thumbtack professional through the Bilt app or website, get matched with a Pro, then book the job directly with that Pro. You pay the Pro first, and the Bilt Cash comes afterward:
The redemption happens on the day verification is completed. Your redemption limit and your Bilt Cash balance are checked on that day, not on the day of the job. Bilt Cash that expired in between can't be used.
Thumbtack joins a short list of partner credits with half-year or yearly caps.
| Partner | Credit per redemption | Redemptions per year | Amount set by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thumbtack | Up to $50 | 2 (Jan 1 to Jun 30, Jul 1 to Dec 31) | Same for all members |
| Equinox | Up to $75 to $150 | 2 (issued Jan 1 and Jul 1) | Bilt status: Blue $75, Silver $100, Gold and Platinum $150 |
| Blacklane | Up to $50 to $150 | 1 per calendar year | Bilt status: Blue and Silver $50, Gold $100, Platinum $150 |
| BLADE | $350 per seat | 2 per calendar year | Same for all members |
The Thumbtack cap is the same for every member, whatever their Bilt status. The Equinox credit and the Blacklane credit both scale with status.
Bilt Cash expires at 11:59 p.m. PT on the last day of the month, 12 months after you earn it. Bilt Cash earned on October 10, 2026, for example, expires on October 31, 2027, and the oldest Bilt Cash is always spent first. This 12-month rule comes with the wider Bilt 2027 program changes.
On a quoted job, that timing matters. If your oldest Bilt Cash expires between the job and the verification, it can't be redeemed. Send your evidence right after the job, not on day 29.
If you have Bilt Cash and a home job to book before December 31, 2026, start it from the Bilt app or website, not from Thumbtack directly. Choose an On-Demand job if you want the discount at checkout. Choose a quoted job only if you're ready to send proof within 30 days and wait for the digital check. Aim for a job that costs at least $50, since any unused part of the redemption is forfeited.
