Amex Business Platinum ZO: Access and Up to $500 in Credits

The Amex Business Platinum ZO benefit combines access to participating workspaces with separate guest passes, Studio reservations and an annual statement credit. The most important distinction is between entering a space and buying a service that qualifies for a credit. They follow different rules.
Eligible U.S. Basic Business Platinum cardmembers can receive ZO Clubhouse and Lounge access, up to four guest day passes per week, up to four Studio day-pass reservations per month, and up to $500 in statement credits per calendar year for specified purchases. Availability and access requirements apply.
This guide follows the official American Express ZO benefit terms, checked on October 28, 2026. All dollar amounts are U.S. dollars. For the card's broader features, read our Business Platinum benefits overview.
| Component | Allowance | Period | Key condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| ZO Clubhouses and Lounges | Complimentary member access, subject to capacity | While eligible | Participating U.S. locations; eligible principal cardmember. |
| ZO guest visits | Up to four guest day passes | Monday–Friday business week | Register guests, accompany them and bring matching QR codes and photo ID. |
| Studio workspaces | Up to four day-pass reservations | Per month | Reserve participating U.S. desk space; one location per use. |
| Eligible purchase credit | Up to $500 per card account | Calendar year | Specified U.S. event-space bookings and/or Dining Club membership; shared account cap. |
The benefit has three different clocks: weekly guest passes, monthly Studio reservations and an annual purchase-credit limit. Keep a separate record for each. Using one component does not create an extra allowance under another.
ZO and Studio belong to Tishman Speyer. Participating U.S. locations, operating hours and amenities can change. A membership does not guarantee a desk at your preferred location or entry on a particular date. Check the actual location before building a workday around it.
For a standard U.S. Business Platinum account, the access benefit is for the Basic Card Member, meaning the principal cardmember. Do not assume every Employee Business Platinum card carries its own ZO membership. The official eligibility list treats employee cards on certain Business Centurion accounts differently; that is a separate account category.
The credit rules are broader than the access rules. Eligible purchases made by employees on the same eligible account can count toward its shared $500 limit. That does not give those employees an independent membership, four monthly Studio reservations, or another $500 credit.
This distinction matters for a small business. A principal cardmember may have eligible access while an employee pays for an eligible event-space booking. Check both the person entering and the purchase being charged. Neither question can be answered solely by seeing the Business Platinum name on a card.
Amex says separate benefit enrollment is not required, but registration and access requirements still apply. Start from the official benefit page and use its registration route to create your ZO Global Access Membership account.
Use the ZO app or online account to choose a participating space and arrange a visit. For a Studio workspace, book in advance. For Clubhouses and Lounges, advance planning also reduces the risk of arriving when the location cannot accommodate you.
Your reservation confirmation supplies a QR code. Bring the eligible physical card and valid photo identification. The names on the reservation, identification and card must match. A confirmation on your phone does not replace the other documents.
The terms describe front-desk help for an eligible visitor who arrives without a reservation. That help remains subject to availability. Treat it as a fallback, rather than a reason to skip registration, especially when traveling to an unfamiliar building.
Eligible members receive complimentary access to participating U.S. ZO Clubhouse and Lounge locations for themselves, subject to capacity and local rules. The word lounge here refers to a work or social space. This is separate from airport lounge admission.
If your goal is airport access, use our Amex Platinum lounge guide to check that different set of benefits. A ZO reservation does not establish access to a Centurion Lounge, and airport access rules do not determine ZO admission.
Review practical details before leaving: opening hours, building entrance, guest registration, available seating and any services you intend to purchase. Amenities vary. Complimentary admission does not make food, drinks or every service inside the space complimentary.
The allowance is four guest day passes in a business week, rather than permission to bring four guests on every visit. Amex defines the week as Monday through Friday.
Register guests in the ZO app or online. Each guest receives a QR code, must bring valid photo identification with a matching name, and must be accompanied by the eligible member. Guests cannot use your membership for an independent visit.
Unused guest passes expire at the applicable location's local closing time on Friday. The allowance resets on Monday. There is no carryover to the following week, and guest access can be limited by capacity.
The Studio component provides up to four day-pass reservations with desk space per month at participating U.S. locations. It is a monthly allocation, distinct from the weekly ZO guest allowance.
Book through the ZO app or online and confirm the location and day shown. Each use is limited to one location. Do not assume one pass lets you move between several Studio sites during the same day.
Bring the reservation QR code, eligible card and photo identification. A Studio reservation is not a blanket promise of private meeting rooms, event space or every paid amenity. Ask the location about anything beyond the booked workspace.
For a traveler needing an occasional desk, these reservations may replace a purchase they would otherwise make. For someone needing a permanent office or a particular room every week, availability and the four-reservation limit may make another arrangement more suitable.
The annual credit applies to eligible event-space bookings at participating U.S. ZO or Studio locations and/or a Dining Club membership. It is not a general reimbursement for any coworking expense, restaurant meal or desk rental.
Eligible event-space purchases must use the specified direct booking channels: the ZO app or Studio's event-space booking service. A ZO account is required to book ZO event space. Confirm the merchant, location and service before committing.
The Dining Club route is different. The terms identify a membership bought directly through a membership representative after an inquiry through the Dining Club's website. An ordinary dining bill is not the same purchase.
The $500 limit belongs to the card account for the calendar year. Principal and employee purchases share it. One eligible $350 purchase would leave at most $150 available that year, assuming no earlier qualifying purchases, refunds or adjustments.
Do not count the full credit as a saving unless you actually need an eligible service. Spending $500 on an unwanted event space simply to receive a credit does not reduce your normal business costs.
Amex allows up to eight weeks after an eligible purchase is charged for the statement credit to appear. Save the booking confirmation, merchant receipt, charge and any cancellation terms so you can identify the purchase if a follow-up is needed.
Merchant processing determines the transaction date used for the benefit period. A purchase made on December 31 can be assigned to the following calendar year if the merchant processes it as a January transaction. Reserve time for processing instead of treating the last evening of the year as a guaranteed cutoff.
A refund, cancellation or modification may reverse the credit. A closed or past-due account may not qualify. Amex also warns that third parties, electronic wallets or incomplete merchant information can prevent it from identifying an eligible purchase.
Pay through the eligible direct channel with the eligible card and keep the transaction traceable. If the credit has not appeared after the stated processing period, contact Amex through the number on your card with the documentation.
A hypothetical $420 eligible event-space booking could receive a credit of up to $420 when the full $500 annual allowance remains. The same price paid for an unrelated coworking subscription would not qualify merely because it is a business expense.
If you use both workspace access and hotel benefits, track them separately. Our Amex Travel Airbnb guide explains another set of booking and credit conditions that does not share the ZO allowance.
Compare the card with other U.S. business credit cards using benefits you expect to use, actual fees and ordinary spending. This workspace benefit is one part of that decision.
