AAdvantage and the MICHELIN Guide: Redeem Miles for Chef Dinners Starting February 2027

American Airlines and the MICHELIN Guide announced an exclusive partnership on November 5, 2026 that lets AAdvantage members redeem miles for chef-led dinners and private culinary trips. The first AAdvantage MICHELIN Guide dinner is planned for Los Angeles in February 2027, and the official partnership announcement lists the full 2027 calendar.
For now, it is a save-the-date. American has not published mileage prices, restaurant names or a booking date. If you hold a large AAdvantage balance and like food-focused travel, this is a new redemption category to watch, not one to plan around yet.
The partnership has three parts. Two of them involve redeeming miles.
American's Chief Customer Officer Heather Garboden described the goal as giving AAdvantage members "access to extraordinary culinary moments that celebrate discovery, connection and the joy of exploring the world."
Four dates are confirmed so far, all in 2027. Exact days, venues and chefs are still to come.
| Experience | City | Planned date | Mileage price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chef-led dinner | Los Angeles | February 2027 | Not announced |
| Chef-led dinner | Miami | April 2027 | Not announced |
| Chef-led dinner | Chicago | June 2027 | Not announced |
| Culinary journey | Porto, Portugal | September 2027 | Not announced |
Nobody knows yet. American has not released mileage rates for the dinners or the Porto trip, and has not said how many seats each event will have. That makes it impossible to judge the value today.
Here is how to frame it once prices appear. The AAdvantage program page carries Milesopedia's current valuation of an AAdvantage mile. Divide the cash value of a comparable dinner by the miles required, and compare the result with what you get from a premium cabin award. Our guide to the best ways to redeem American AAdvantage miles shows the flight benchmarks worth beating.
Availability is the other unknown. The dinners are described as intimate, chef-led events, so seats per city are likely to be limited.
The inaugural culinary journey is set for Porto, Portugal, in September 2027, timed to coincide with American's launch of service to the city. Porto sits at the mouth of the Douro River, the gateway to the Douro Valley wine region, which suits an itinerary built around chefs, hotels and wineries.
If you want to pair the journey with a flight award, watch for the Porto route in American's schedule.
A few steps make sense while you wait for details:
The AAdvantage MICHELIN Guide partnership adds a new way to spend miles: chef-led dinners in Los Angeles (February 2027), Miami (April 2027) and Chicago (June 2027), plus a culinary journey to Porto in September 2027. Do not move miles or plan trips around it yet. Wait for American to publish mileage prices, then compare them with a premium flight award before you book.
