Citi ThankYou Points Now Transfer to Copa ConnectMiles, Up to 1:1

Citi ThankYou points now transfer to Copa Airlines ConnectMiles. The option went live on October 25, 2026, and Copa's transfer partner page lists the ratio by card: 1 ThankYou point becomes 1 ConnectMiles mile from the Citi Strata Premier, Citi Strata Elite, Prestige and AT&T Access More, and 1 point becomes 0.7 mile from Citi's other ThankYou cards. Copa now appears in the ThankYou points transfer list with a "New" tag.
Citi is the only U.S. partner on Copa's points conversion page. Until now, a U.S. cardholder could not move bank points to ConnectMiles through a major card program. For Citi ThankYou members, Copa adds a Star Alliance option based in Panama City, the airline's Tocumen hub.
Your ratio depends on the card attached to your ThankYou account, not on how you earned the points.
| Citi card | Ratio | 1,000 ThankYou points become |
|---|---|---|
| Citi Strata Elite, Citi Strata Premier, Prestige, AT&T Access More | 1:1 | 1,000 ConnectMiles miles |
| Citi ThankYou Preferred, Citi Strata Card, Citi Double Cash, Citi Custom Cash, Citi ThankYou Mastercard | 1:0.7 | 700 ConnectMiles miles |
| AT&T Universal Rewards World, AT&T Universal Savings and Rewards, AT&T Universal Rewards, AT&T Points Plus Card, AT&T Access | 1:0.7 | 700 ConnectMiles miles |
The gap matters on a real award. Moving 30,000 ThankYou points gives 30,000 ConnectMiles miles from a Citi Strata Premier or a Citi Strata Elite, but only 21,000 miles from a Citi Strata Card or a Citi Double Cash.
Citi applies the same rules to Copa as to its other airline partners:
Citi deducts the points at once. Posting time varies by partner: some airline transfers arrive within 24 hours, others take up to 14 days. Do not hold a Copa award seat on the assumption that miles arrive in minutes.
Copa is the sixth Star Alliance program on the Citi list. ThankYou points already transfer to Avianca LifeMiles, EVA Air, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Thai Royal Orchid Plus and Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles. Before you send points to Copa, price the same Star Alliance flight in those programs: award charts, partner surcharges and availability differ from one program to the next.
Copa makes the most sense if you fly to Central America, South America or the Caribbean through Panama, or if a Copa award price beats the other Star Alliance programs on your route. Citi has run transfer bonuses to Star Alliance partners before, such as the 25% Citi transfer bonus to Avianca LifeMiles. Check our current credit card transfer bonuses before a large transfer.
Citi also changed several transfer ratios in 2026, as covered in our article on the Citi ThankYou transfer devaluation. For the full list of bank programs and partners, see our guide to transferable points.
If you hold a Citi Strata Premier or Strata Elite, Copa is now a 1:1 partner worth pricing on any Star Alliance award to Latin America. With a Strata Card, Double Cash or Custom Cash, you lose 30% of the value on every transfer, so compare the price in another Star Alliance program first.
