Capital One Spark Cash Offers: $2,000 Plus a $500 Travel Credit
Loading article…
The current Capital One Spark Cash offers pair a large cash bonus with a limited-time travel credit, and both versions of the card close on the same date. The Spark Cash Plus pays $2,000 after $30,000 in purchases in the first three months, plus a $500 Capital One Business Travel credit. The Spark 2% Cash asks for much less: $1,000 after $10,000 in three months, plus a $250 travel credit.
Capital One confirmed in an August 25, 2026 press release that September 7, 2026 is the end date for both travel credits, so the window is short. Below we cover what each card costs, what the travel credit can actually pay for, and which of the two fits a smaller monthly spend. For a wider view, see our picks for the best credit cards in the United States.
What the Capital One Spark Cash offers include
Both cards earn a flat 2% cash back on every purchase, with no category tracking. The difference sits in the annual fee, the spending requirement, and how the balance works each month.

Spark Cash Plus: the bigger bonus and the bigger bill
$30,000 across three months works out to $10,000 a month. That is real money for a small company, and it should only tempt you if the spending was already on the books. Payroll services, inventory, contractor invoices, and ad budgets are the usual ways businesses reach a number like this without inventing purchases.
The $150 annual fee comes back to you each year you spend at least $150,000 on the card. Capital One also adds another $2,000 for every $500,000 spent during the first year, which matters only to larger operations but costs nothing to know about.
Spark 2% Cash: the lower spending bar
The smaller version asks for $10,000 over three months, or about $3,333 a month. Most side businesses and solo consultants can reach that without changing how they operate. The first year carries no annual fee, so the $1,000 bonus and the $250 travel credit arrive before you pay anything.
One restriction is worth reading twice. Capital One notes that the bonus may not be available to current or previous holders of a Capital One business card. If you already carry a Spark product, check your eligibility before you count on the money.
What the travel credit can pay for
The credit is narrower than a general statement credit, so read the terms closely before you treat it as cash.
- Booking channel: It applies only to purchases made through Capital One Business Travel, not to travel booked directly with an airline or hotel.
- Timing: The credit lands on your Capital One Business Travel balance within two billing cycles after you meet the spending requirement.
- Expiry: It expires 15 months after your account opens. That is a generous runway, but it is not unlimited.

How this compares to other business card offers
August has been a strong month for business cards, which gives you a real choice rather than a single option.
The Sapphire Reserve for Business welcome bonus also asks for $30,000 in three months and pays 200,000 Chase points. The Amex Business Gold welcome offer reaches up to 200,000 Membership Rewards points for $15,000 in spending.
The choice comes down to what you want at the end. Spark Cash Plus hands you $2,500 in plain value with no learning curve and no transfer partners to study. The points cards can be worth more, sometimes far more, but only if you are willing to work at booking award flights. For a business owner who wants the money to simply appear, flat cash back wins on effort.
Bottom Line
The Capital One Spark Cash offers are among the strongest these cards have carried. $2,500 in combined value on the Plus version, or $1,250 on the standard card with no fee in year one, is a clean return on spending you were going to make anyway.
Two things decide it. Pick the version whose spending requirement you can hit honestly, and make sure you have travel plans that fit through Capital One Business Travel before you assign full value to the credit. Both offers end September 7, 2026. Capital One has now confirmed that date publicly, and less than two weeks remain, so treat this as a short decision rather than an open one.

Capital One Spark Cash offers – Frequently Asked Questions
When do the Capital One Spark Cash offers end?
Capital One confirmed in an August 25, 2026 press release that September 7, 2026 is the end date for the travel credit portion on both the Spark Cash Plus and the Spark 2% Cash. The underlying cash bonuses have carried different end dates in the past, so apply before that date if the credit is part of your decision.
How much do I need to spend for the $2,000 bonus?
$30,000 in purchases within the first three months of account opening, which is $10,000 a month. Fees, interest, and cash advances do not count toward the total. The $500 travel credit uses the same $30,000 threshold.
Is the Spark Cash Plus annual fee waived?
Not upfront. You pay $150, and Capital One refunds it each year you spend at least $150,000 on the card. The Spark 2% Cash works differently: $0 for the first year, then $95.
Can I carry a balance on the Spark Cash Plus?
No. It is a pay-in-full card, so the entire balance is due every month. In exchange there is no preset spending limit, which helps when a single purchase is larger than a traditional card would allow.
Where can I use the $500 travel credit?
Only on purchases made through Capital One Business Travel. It is applied to your Capital One Business Travel balance within two billing cycles and expires 15 months after your account opens. It does not work on travel booked directly with an airline or hotel.
Do I need an incorporated business to apply?
No. Sole proprietors can apply using their own name and Social Security number. Freelance work, consulting, and side businesses generally qualify as long as you report the income.
Can I get the bonus if I already have a Capital One business card?
Possibly not. Capital One states that the bonus may not be available to current or previous holders of a Capital One business card. Check the terms on your application before you count on the money.
Which Spark card is better for a small business?
If your business spends less than $10,000 a month, the Spark 2% Cash is the safer pick: a lower bar, no fee in year one, and the same 2% rate. The Plus version only makes sense if $30,000 in three months is spending you would do regardless.
