The Air France KLM Visa Signature® Card has an enhanced welcome offer that’s incredibly lucrative for those chasing Flying Blue elite status. Right now, you’ll earn 70,000 bonus miles + 100 XPs (Experience Points) after you make $3,000 or more in purchases within the first 90 days of your account opening.
The 100 XPs are particularly valuable as they’re enough to achieve Flying Blue Silver status immediately. Note that the card has an $89 annual fee. This is lower than many comparable airline credit cards and we think it’s a solid deal, especially when you consider the enhanced welcome offer.

The Air France KLM Visa Signature® Card gives cardholders 5,000 bonus Flying Blue miles once per year. The only requirement is that you spend $50 or more on the card within your anniversary year, which should be easy enough with normal spending.
The biggest enhancement to the Air France KLM Visa Signature® Card is the dramatically improved XP earning structure:
This is a massive improvement for Flying Blue elite status seekers. If you’re able to spend $25,000 per year on the card, you can earn 160 XP annually, which covers over half of the 300 XP required to maintain Platinum status.
In March 2026, the card will automatically transition from the Air France KLM World Elite Mastercard to the Air France KLM Visa Signature Card. Existing cardholders will receive new Visa cards with new card numbers, but all benefits and terms remain the same. The transition to Visa means the card will be accepted at Costco, opening up new earning opportunities.
This credit card doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees, so use it to pay in any currency without paying extra.

It’s hard to directly compare the Air France KLM Visa Signature® Card to other airline credit cards, as benefits may be similar but will not apply to the same airline. Instead, we’ll compare it to a card with similar annual fees.
The first that comes to mind is the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card. This transferable points credit card earns Chase Ultimate Rewards points, which transfer 1:1 to 14 different airline and hotel loyalty programs. This includes Flying Blue, Air Canada Aeroplan, United MileagePlus and World of Hyatt, among others.
The Chase Sapphire Preferred earns 2 points per dollar on travel and 3 points per dollar on dining. However, you’d forgo the Flying Blue elite status benefits from the Air France KLM Visa Signature® Card, which now offers up to 160 XPs annually—a game-changing improvement for status seekers.
The Air France KLM Visa Signature® Card has an $89 annual fee, which we find very reasonable. This is especially true when you consider the 5,000 bonus miles you earn for spending at least $50 on the card per year. We value Flying Blue miles at 1.7 cents per mile, so this is worth at least $85.
The value of the card has been dramatically enhanced for travelers who want to earn Flying Blue elite status. Being able to earn up to 160 XPs per year with the card (versus just 20 XPs previously) is a game-changer. This could be the difference between earning and maintaining higher status tiers, especially Platinum status which requires 300 XPs to maintain.
Additionally, the enhanced welcome offer of 70,000 miles + 100 XPs far outweighs the annual fee when you first get the card. Based on our 1.7 cent per mile valuation of Flying Blue miles, the bonus is worth $1,190, and the 100 XPs provide instant Silver status.
Long story short: Yes, we think the Air France KLM Visa Signature® Card is absolutely worth it if you fly Air France or KLM and want Flying Blue miles and status. The enhanced XP earning makes it a must-have for US-based Flying Blue elites.
