Chase Air Canada Aeroplan® Credit Card

Why consider it: For Air Canada travelers who will use Aeroplan points, checked-bag benefits, and the card’s status privileges.

Trade-off: Status and baggage benefits have airline and reservation conditions; partner award seats are not guaranteed. Benefits you actually use must justify the annual fee.

Pros

  • Welcome bonus of 115,000 points
  • 2x on groceries
  • 2x at restaurants

Cons

  • High annual fee ($195)

The Chase Air Canada Aeroplan Card can fit travelers who use Air Canada benefits. Its verified offer is up to 115,000 points: 75,000 after $4,000 in purchases in the first 3 months and another 40,000 after $20,000 in total purchases in the first 12 months. The $195 annual fee and both spending thresholds should fit your budget without unnecessary purchases or an interest-bearing balance.

The primary cardmember receives automatic Aeroplan 25K status while the linked account stays open and not in default. At least $75,000 in purchases in a calendar year qualifies for 35K for that year’s remainder and the next year. Eligible Air Canada credits are capped at $50 in each half of the calendar year, up to $100 total, rather than a single unrestricted $100 credit.

The card earns 3 points per U.S. dollar on eligible travel, 2 at gas stations and 1 on other purchases. Grocery and dining purchases earn 3 through December 31, 2026, then 2. The airline’s additional points on eligible Air Canada fares use a separate Canadian-dollar calculation and are not an unconditional card earn rate. Check the fare, baggage and FLY15OFF conditions for your own trip.

The calculator and displayed ongoing rates use 2 points on grocery and dining purchases. They exclude the temporary extra point through December 31, 2026, so it is not projected over a full year…

Pros

  • Welcome bonus of 75,000 points
  • 3x at restaurants

Cons

  • Fewer premium perks

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card suits a traveler who wants transferable points without a premium annual fee. The current offer is 75,000 bonus points after $5,000 in purchases in the first 3 months. The annual fee is $95.

You earn 5 points per dollar on eligible Chase Travel purchases, 3 on dining, select streaming services, eligible online groceries, gas stations, EV charging and eligible vacation-home bookings, 2 on other travel, and 1 on other purchases. Category exclusions apply.

The hotel benefit provides up to $100 in statement credits each account anniversary year for eligible Chase Travel hotel purchases. The first $100 covered by this benefit does not earn points. A separate application-fee credit provides up to $120 every four years for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS when the qualifying fee is charged to the card.

Pros

  • Welcome bonus of 100,000 points

Cons

  • Fewer premium perks

The Chase Ink Business Preferred can suit a business whose spending is concentrated in travel, eligible shipping purchases, search-engine and social-media advertising, and eligible internet, cable and phone services. It earns 3 points per dollar on the first $150,000 in combined eligible category purchases each account anniversary year, then 1 point per dollar. The cap applies to spending, not to 150,000 points: $150,000 of qualifying purchases at 3 points per dollar earns 450,000 points.

The verified public offer is 100,000 points after $8,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. The annual fee is $95. The spending requirement should be achievable without unnecessary purchases or an interest-bearing balance; a large bonus does not automatically offset borrowing costs.

Chase Travel’s standard redemption rate is 1 cent per point. The value and availability of Points Boost offers vary by card and booking; check the value displayed for your account. Partner transfers are generally 1:1, with an important current exception: World of Hyatt transfers are 4:3 from October 1, 2026. Confirm the price and availability before transferring.

Pros

  • Welcome bonus of 100,000 points
  • 3x at restaurants

Cons

  • High annual fee ($795)

The Chase Sapphire Reserve is aimed at travelers who can regularly use its benefits despite the $795 annual fee. The verified public offer is 100,000 points after $6,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. Bonus eligibility depends on the offer terms and your account history and should not be assumed.

The card earns 8 points per dollar on eligible Chase Travel purchases, 4 on flights and hotels booked directly, 3 on dining, and 1 on other purchases. Chase Travel’s standard redemption rate is 1 cent per point; eligible Points Boost offers can reach 2 cents. That maximum depends on the selected booking and is not a guaranteed value for every point.

The travel credit reimburses up to $300 of eligible purchases each account anniversary year; purchases covered by that credit do not earn points. Other hotel and dining credits have their own conditions and periods. Assess them against trips and spending you actually plan, rather than adding all advertised ceilings as if they were automatic cash payments.

Our Methodology

Cards closed to new applicants and code-only offers whose terms cannot be verified are excluded. Only cards matching a category can be curated or sponsored on its page. A configured editorial selection replaces the calculated list. Otherwise, category cards are ordered by monthly selection, then first-year welcome-bonus cash value, then lower annual fees. Unknown values follow known values. Sponsored, exclusive, and featured placements then move first, in that order, with labels identifying them. Position is therefore not a universal quality score. The hub shows the first 5 cards from each list. Interest, eligibility, and your own use can change which card suits you.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1Which card should I choose from this table?

Start with your spending and eligibility. Read each card’s reason and trade-off, then compare its fees and terms. First position does not guarantee the best fit for your situation.

2How is the order determined?

Cards closed to new applicants and code-only offers whose terms cannot be verified are excluded. Only cards matching a category can be curated or sponsored on its page. A configured editorial selection replaces the calculated list. Otherwise, category cards are ordered by monthly selection, then first-year welcome-bonus cash value, then lower annual fees. The hub shows the first 5 cards from each list. Interest, eligibility, and your own use can change which card suits you.

3Are business cards suitable for everyone?

No. They require eligible business activity and may carry a personal guarantee. A large welcome offer does not make a business card suitable for personal spending.

4Where should I verify offers and benefits?

The table and card details read the site’s catalogue. Also check current issuer terms before applying: welcome offers, required spending, and lounge-access rules can change.

5Does a no-fee card guarantee savings?

No. Interest and other charges can outweigh rewards. Compare the full cost and, when possible, pay your statement balance in full.
