Why consider it: For travelers who want extra hotel and airline earning with Wells Fargo transfer options.

Trade-off: The annual fee needs enough travel spending; airline-credit eligibility and partner award availability still matter.

Pros

  • Welcome bonus of 60,000 points
  • 5x on groceries

Cons

  • Fewer premium perks

The Choice Privileges Select Mastercard targets travelers who regularly use Choice hotels and can justify its $95 annual fee. It earns 10 points per dollar on eligible Choice stays and point purchases, 5 in selected everyday categories, and 1 on other purchases.

The 30,000 anniversary points are separate from the welcome offer and depend on the account remaining open and in good standing. Their value depends on available redemptions rather than a guaranteed number of nights. Platinum status and travel benefits should be compared with planned stays; they do not automatically offset the annual fee.

The Choice Privileges Mastercard can suit travelers who use Choice hotels without wanting an annual card fee. It earns 5 points per dollar on eligible Choice stays and eligible point purchases, 3 in selected everyday categories, and 1 on other purchases.

The verified public offer is 40,000 points after $1,000 in purchases within the first three months. The nights available depend on the property, dates, and redemption terms, so the bonus should not be converted into a guaranteed number of free nights. Included Gold status should likewise be assessed against stays you actually plan to make.

Our Methodology

Cards closed to new applicants and code-only offers whose terms cannot be verified are excluded. Only cards matching a category can be curated or sponsored on its page. A configured editorial selection replaces the calculated list. Otherwise, category cards are ordered by monthly selection, then first-year welcome-bonus cash value, then lower annual fees. Unknown values follow known values. Sponsored, exclusive, and featured placements then move first, in that order, with labels identifying them. Position is therefore not a universal quality score. The hub shows the first 5 cards from each list. Interest, eligibility, and your own use can change which card suits you.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1Which card should I choose from this table?

Start with your spending and eligibility. Read each card’s reason and trade-off, then compare its fees and terms. First position does not guarantee the best fit for your situation.

2How is the order determined?

Cards closed to new applicants and code-only offers whose terms cannot be verified are excluded. Only cards matching a category can be curated or sponsored on its page. A configured editorial selection replaces the calculated list. Otherwise, category cards are ordered by monthly selection, then first-year welcome-bonus cash value, then lower annual fees. The hub shows the first 5 cards from each list. Interest, eligibility, and your own use can change which card suits you.

3Are business cards suitable for everyone?

No. They require eligible business activity and may carry a personal guarantee. A large welcome offer does not make a business card suitable for personal spending.

4Where should I verify offers and benefits?

The table and card details read the site’s catalogue. Also check current issuer terms before applying: welcome offers, required spending, and lounge-access rules can change.

5Does a no-fee card guarantee savings?

No. Interest and other charges can outweigh rewards. Compare the full cost and, when possible, pay your statement balance in full.
