The Platinum Card® from American Express

Why consider it: For frequent travelers who will use the Global Lounge Collection and Amex travel benefits throughout the year.

Trade-off: Credits require eligible purchases and sometimes enrollment; guest access has separate limits and charges. Benefits you actually use must justify the annual fee.

Compare the $325 annual fee with credits you can use on purchases you already plan. Dining, Uber Cash, Resy and Dunkin’ total at most $424 over a full year if every monthly or semiannual allowance is used under its conditions. This is not cash paid to you or a guaranteed offset of the fee. The Hotel Collection’s property credit requires a separate eligible booking of at least two nights.

Pros

  • Welcome bonus of 75,000 miles
  • 2x on groceries
  • 2x at restaurants

Cons

  • Fewer premium perks

The Capital One Venture Rewards card combines a base rate of 2 miles per dollar with a $95 annual fee. Hotels, vacation rentals and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel earn 5 miles per dollar.

The current offer includes 75,000 miles after $4,000 in purchases in the first three months and a one-time $300 credit for hotels and vacation rentals through Capital One Travel. The credit expires one year after account opening, so its value depends on bookings you expect to make through the portal. It is not a recurring annual benefit.

This card can suit travelers who want a straightforward earning rate and use the miles’ redemption or transfer options. No foreign transaction fees help abroad, but the variable purchase APR of 19.74% to 28.74% makes paying in full important. A Venture or Venture X new-cardmember bonus received within the past 48 months makes you ineligible for the new bonus.

Pros

  • Welcome bonus of 115,000 points
  • 2x on groceries
  • 2x at restaurants

Cons

  • High annual fee ($195)

The Chase Air Canada Aeroplan Card can fit travelers who use Air Canada benefits. Its verified offer is up to 115,000 points: 75,000 after $4,000 in purchases in the first 3 months and another 40,000 after $20,000 in total purchases in the first 12 months. The $195 annual fee and both spending thresholds should fit your budget without unnecessary purchases or an interest-bearing balance.

The primary cardmember receives automatic Aeroplan 25K status while the linked account stays open and not in default. At least $75,000 in purchases in a calendar year qualifies for 35K for that year’s remainder and the next year. Eligible Air Canada credits are capped at $50 in each half of the calendar year, up to $100 total, rather than a single unrestricted $100 credit.

The card earns 3 points per U.S. dollar on eligible travel, 2 at gas stations and 1 on other purchases. Grocery and dining purchases earn 3 through December 31, 2026, then 2. The airline’s additional points on eligible Air Canada fares use a separate Canadian-dollar calculation and are not an unconditional card earn rate. Check the fare, baggage and FLY15OFF conditions for your own trip.

The calculator and displayed ongoing rates use 2 points on grocery and dining purchases. They exclude the temporary extra point through December 31, 2026, so it is not projected over a full year…

Pros

  • Welcome bonus of 75,000 miles
  • 2x on groceries
  • 2x at restaurants

Cons

  • High annual fee ($395)

Capital One Venture X Rewards fits a frequent traveler who will use Capital One Travel and airport lounges. It charges a $395 annual fee and offers 75,000 bonus miles after $4,000 in purchases in the first 3 months.

The card earns 2 miles per dollar on other purchases, 10 on eligible hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, and 5 on eligible flights and vacation rentals booked through that service. The $300 annual Capital One Travel credit is restricted to that booking service and expires at the next account anniversary. You also receive 10,000 bonus miles starting with the first anniversary.

Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application fees can qualify for a statement credit of up to $120 per account every four years when paid with the card.

Capital One Venture X Business

Why consider it: Business card. For business travel that can use flat-rate miles, premium airport access, and the business travel credit.

Trade-off: Check full-payment terms and the Business-specific lounge rules rather than assuming personal Venture X conditions. Benefits you actually use must justify the annual fee. An eligible business activity is required.

Pros

  • Welcome bonus of 300,000 miles
  • 2x on groceries
  • 2x at restaurants

Cons

  • High annual fee ($395)

The Capital One Venture X Business card is aimed at businesses that use Capital One’s travel services and can justify a $395 annual fee. It earns 2 miles per dollar on purchases, plus 10 miles on hotels and rental cars and 5 miles on flights and vacation rentals booked through Capital One Business Travel.

The limited-time offer provides up to 300,000 miles and a $1,000 travel credit. In the first four months, $40,000 in purchases earns 150,000 miles; $120,000 in cumulative purchases earns another 150,000 miles and the credit. The second threshold is $120,000 in total, rather than an additional $120,000. Assess it against business spending already planned.

The separate $300 annual credit, 10,000 anniversary miles and lounge access can contribute value when the business uses them. Lounge access and enrollment conditions still apply. The card is designed to be paid in full, with an option to carry part of the balance with interest; it should not be treated as interest-free financing.

American Express ZO — Tishman Speyer

ZO access is for the eligible U.S. Basic Business Platinum holder, subject to participating U.S. locations and availability; international locations are excluded. The personal Platinum Card is not included in this benefit’s eligible-card list.

Amex benefit enrollment is not required. Entry requires the eligible card, matching photo ID and a reservation QR code. A ZO Global Access account and reservation are required for Studio and guest passes. ZO staff can assist with a walk-in reservation subject to availability. Clubhouse/Lounge access is complimentary without a fixed visit allotment; Studio is limited to 4 day-pass reservations per month, one location per use.

Up to 4 guest day passes per business week, Monday–Friday: guests must be registered, accompanied by the eligible holder and present matching photo ID and QR code. Unused passes expire at local closing time on Friday and do not carry forward.

The $500 statement-credit maximum is shared by the eligible account per calendar year. Eligible purchases are U.S. ZO/Studio event-space bookings made directly through yourstudio.com or the ZO app, and Dining Club membership purchased directly with its membership representative. Employee-card purchases can qualify for that shared account limit but do not create another credit or access entitlement. Allow up to 8 weeks for credits; refunds, cancellations, merchant processing and account standing can affect eligibility. This is not a $500 credit for everyday restaurant or coworking purchases.

Unlock Premium Business Travel Benefits with The Business Platinum Card® from American Express

Elevated Welcome Offer: Earn up to 300,000 Membership Rewards® points after you spend $20,000 in eligible purchases within the first 3 months of Card Membership. Welcome offers vary by applicant and you may not be eligible for an offer. The advertised 300,000 points is a maximum, not a guaranteed bonus. Confirm your own offer before accepting the card.

The Business Platinum Card® from American Express combines travel access and conditional statement credits. Compare the benefits you can actually use with the $895 annual fee. Enrollment, eligible merchants, spending thresholds and monthly, quarterly or semiannual limits affect their value:

  • Airport lounge access through the American Express Global Lounge Collection, subject to each network’s enrollment, admission, guest and visit rules. Consult the current Amex lounge finder before travel.
  • Up to $600 in statement credits annually on eligible prepaid Fine Hotels + Resorts, The Hotel Collection or Airbnb Luxe bookings through Amex Travel: up to $300 per half-year, without carryover. The Hotel Collection and Airbnb Luxe require 2 nights; Fine Hotels + Resorts also requires 2 nights from January 1, 2027.
  • Up to $200 Airline Fee Credit with your selected qualifying airline
  • Up to $200 back annually on eligible Hilton purchases, up to $50 per quarter. Hilton For Business and Hilton Honors membership plus Amex enrollment are required.
  • Up to $219 back annually on CLEAR® Plus Membership
  • Up to $1,150 in Dell Technologies credits ($150 statement credit plus an additional $1,000 after spending $5,000+)
  • $250 Adobe credit after spending $600+ per calendar year
  • Up to $360 back annually for purchases with Indeed
  • Up to $120 back annually for wireless telephone services

Business Platinum cardholders earn 5X points on qualifying scheduled flights booked online or in the Amex Travel app, prepaid hotels through Amex Travel and prepaid short-term Airbnb stays through Amex Travel with a linked Airbnb account; 2X points on eligible U.S. business categories or individual eligible purchases of at least $5,000, sharing a $2 million calendar-year ceiling, then 1X. Only the highest eligible rate applies. The calculator uses 1X for these purchases because it cannot verify individual transaction amounts, merchant eligibility or prior cap usage; and 1X points on other eligible purchases. Qualified Amex Travel inputs start at $0; do not count the same spending in another category. Credits remain unselected until you choose the benefits you can use.

With a flexible spending limit that adapts based on your purchase, payment and credit history, The Business Platinum Card® is designed to support your growing business needs.

American Express ZO Membership from Tishman Speyer is available to the U.S. Basic Business Platinum Card Member: complimentary ZO Clubhouse/Lounge access subject to availability, up to 4 guest day passes per Monday–Friday week and 4 Studio desk day passes per month. Up to $500 in statement credits per account per calendar year applies only to eligible U.S. ZO/Studio event-space bookings and/or Dining Club membership. Registration, reservation and entry requirements apply; unused guest passes do not roll over. Employee Cards on a Business Platinum account do not receive their own ZO access or a separate $500 credit.

Only the top 2 categories each billing cycle will count towards the $150,000 cap.*

Telephone flight bookings, car rentals, cruises and packages do not qualify for this 3X channel. Enter only qualifying spending in the calculator.

Pros

  • Welcome bonus of up to 200,000 points

Cons

  • High annual fee ($375)

Unlock Customized Rewards with the American Express Business Gold Card

  • As high as 200,000 Membership Rewards® points after $15,000 in eligible purchases within the first 3 months. Offers vary by applicant: a lower offer or no offer may be available. Confirm your personal offer before applying.
  • 4X points in the 2 eligible categories with the highest spending each billing cycle, selected automatically from 6 categories, on up to $150,000 combined per calendar year, then 1X. Eligible categories include U.S. media advertising, U.S. electronics/software/cloud providers, U.S. restaurants, U.S. gas stations, transit and monthly wireless service directly from U.S. providers. From February 17, 2027, advertising and wireless purchases are limited to the merchants listed in Amex terms.
  • 1X point on all other purchases
  • Up to $20 in monthly statement credits for eligible U.S. purchases at Grubhub, office supply stores and UPS.com shipments: up to $240 per calendar year. Amex enrollment is required; the monthly limit is shared across Basic and Employee Cards and does not roll over.
  • Up to $12.95 plus applicable taxes monthly for 1 Walmart+ monthly membership per account; annual plans, Walmart Business+ and Plus Ups are excluded. The subscription auto-renews until cancelled.
  • $375 annual fee

The $375 annual fee is easier to justify when your business already spends in eligible categories and uses the credits. Up to $300 per calendar year for eligible ChatGPT Business purchases directly with OpenAI and up to $150 per calendar year directly with Squarespace.com or AcuityScheduling.com require Amex enrollment. U.S. and U.S.-territory purchases must have OpenAI or Squarespace as merchant of record. Each credit is shared across Basic and Employee Cards; subscriptions may auto-renew. These credits do not make ChatGPT Business, ChatGPT Plus or the API free. The calculator leaves credits unselected and qualified spending at $0 until you enter it; do not enter the same purchase twice.

Terms checked October 26, 2026. Enrollment applies to the credits specified in Amex terms. The 4X categories are selected automatically; this is not a category-activation requirement. The calculator normalizes the annual cap using constant monthly spending and does not infer spending already posted earlier in the calendar year.

Cards closed to new applicants and code-only offers whose terms cannot be verified are excluded. Only cards matching a category can be curated or sponsored on its page. A configured editorial selection replaces the calculated list. Otherwise, category cards are ordered by monthly selection, then first-year welcome-bonus cash value, then lower annual fees. FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1Which card should I choose from this table?

Start with your spending and eligibility. Read each card’s reason and trade-off, then compare its fees and terms. First position does not guarantee the best fit for your situation.

2How is the order determined?

Cards closed to new applicants and code-only offers whose terms cannot be verified are excluded. Only cards matching a category can be curated or sponsored on its page. A configured editorial selection replaces the calculated list. Otherwise, category cards are ordered by monthly selection, then first-year welcome-bonus cash value, then lower annual fees. The hub shows the first 5 cards from each list. Interest, eligibility, and your own use can change which card suits you.

3Are business cards suitable for everyone?

No. They require eligible business activity and may carry a personal guarantee. A large welcome offer does not make a business card suitable for personal spending.

4Where should I verify offers and benefits?

The table and card details read the site’s catalogue. Also check current issuer terms before applying: welcome offers, required spending, and lounge-access rules can change.

5Does a no-fee card guarantee savings?

No. Interest and other charges can outweigh rewards. Compare the full cost and, when possible, pay your statement balance in full.
