Hilton Honors has a new buy points promotion that gives members up to a 100% bonus on points purchased. The bonus offer will be available from January 28 until March 14, 2026.
With this bonus, members can effectively buy points for as low as 0.5¢, which is comparable to the best offers we tend to see with this program.
This promotion represents a good opportunity to top-up your Hilton Honors account for a specific redemption or potentially save a nice chunk of cash on one of Hilton’s many aspirational properties.
Let’s take a look at the promotion’s details to see if you should take advantage of this limited-time opportunity.
The current HIlton Honors buy points promotion is available until March 14, 2026.
Like many buy-points promotions, this offer is targeted so members may see different bonuses when they log into their account.
The 100% bonus appears to be the best available offer, with the bonus kicking in when you buy 5,000+ points.
For those targeted for the full 100% bonus, this gives you the following rates:
Based on this structure, if you were to purchase the maximum number of points during this promotion, you would get 480,000 Hilton Honors points (240,000 regular points + 240,000 bonus points) for $2,400 USD.
This gives you an effective cost of 0.5¢ per point, or half the regular 1¢ per point price.
Also, it’s notable that the maximum purchase amount has been elevated from its usual yearly maximum of 160,000 purchased points per year (before bonuses) to 240,000.
With Hilton Honors, you’re also allowed to pool your points with family members, so in theory, you could buy additional points during this promotion under a family member’s account and then transfer them into your own account if you were looking to access more than 480,000 points.
Despite the strong value available during this buy points promotion, there are still generally only two scenarios where buying Hilton Honors points is a good idea.
The first scenario where it can definitely make sense to buy points is when you’re looking to just add a few points to your account so that you can access a specific redemption.
Since reward programs can be devalued without any notice (and in fact the Hilton Honors program was devalued in 2025), you always want to have a plan for your points, and it’s never a good idea to purchase points speculatively.
Additionally, since Hilton doesn’t publish an award chart, the exact number of points you’ll need for a given redemption can change at any moment, and this fluctuation can leave you out-of-pocket if you’ve made a points purchase without a plan.
The other situation in which it can make sense to buy Hilton Honors points is if there is a stay where it’s cheaper to buy the points at 0.5¢ a piece and redeem them than it is to pay the cash rate.
As an example, a night in the Lagoon Bungalow Room at the Huvafen Fushi Maldives, an SLH Hotel, can be booked for $1,151, and that same night is also available for 190,000 points. In this case, purchasing 190,000 points at a cost of 0.5¢ each comes to a total of $950, which would save you $200 off the listed cash price.
Now, finding this type money-saving scenario isn’t always easy, but it’s certainly a nice option to be able to explore — especially if you have your eye on a premium property or two that come attached to a higher price tag.
However, keep in mind that although purchased points often arrive instantly, it can take multiple days before they appear in your account. This makes this redemption scenario fairly risky, so we recommend approaching these opportunities with caution.
